When I started my packing list so many months ago for this whole journey, I knew off the bat I wanted the process to be as streamlined and minimal as possible. It wasn’t easy deciding what things I could do without for 4 months since that’s basically what it boiled down to. But I willingly accepted the challenge, knowing that in the end I’d be happy to cut back a little in order to make everything much easier for the duration of our stay. Since most of the trips I usually take are domestic, my go-to travel accessory is the leather cosmetic set from Cuyana. Can’t go wrong with black leather in my book, especially with the pretty gold monogram! But for this trip, I knew they would need a little help. Packing everything to get over to England was one thing, but since Josh and I have been taking so many little weekend side-trips, keeping everything organized and within requirements for airline carrying-on was a must. I’ve quickly learned how to keep things as efficient as possible!
I’ve known about the brand Vera Bradley a long time, but I never actually bought into the product itself until recently, when they released their chic leather line and streamlined their travel section. I decided to try out the hanging organizer, flat iron cover, jewelry roll, and roll case, and they are quickly proving themselves to be invaluable. I thought I’d share about them a little, in case anyone out there is looking for accessories that are effective, good quality and decently affordable.
1 | Curling & Flat Iron Cover
The flat iron cover is pretty self-explanatory, but even more spacious than I anticipated. It can fit both my flat iron and small barrel iron inside, though only one is pictured here.
2 | Jewelry Pouch
I wasn’t going to get the jewelry pouch at first, but I’m so glad I did, as it’s hands-down my favorite of the four. I love the snap-able bands for keeping rings and earrings organized, and the two pouches are the perfect size for bangles, bracelets and my watch, and it all rolls up into a tidy bundle.
3 | Roll Case
The small roll case I got specifically for my toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste. I don’t know about the rest of you, but it really grosses me out to have my toothbrush touching other things in my makeup bag, and vice versa, even with those plastic toothbrush covers. Now all my oral hygiene tools are contained inside their own pouch, which fits easily into my large Cuyana pouch, or the …
4 | Hanging Organizer
I love this thing. I wouldn’t recommend this one for quick weekend trips, as it takes up quite a bit more space than the other bags, but regardless, it’s been great for just our tiny London flat bathroom alone. It’s able to hold almost all of my toiletries single-handedly so I haven’t even bothered unpacking it since it can just hang on the door. And everything stays organized in the clear zip pouches. Bonus – now I don’t forget where I put everything since I can see! Bon voyage!
